The South Shore Waldorf School & Kindergarten Newsletter
March 2005

The official opening of the school’s new entranceway and office on November 27, 2004. “On deck” with Julie Suederick is our MLA, the Hon. Michael Baker.

To my fellow swimmers,

There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift
and there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on
to the shore. They will feel that they are being torn apart and
will suffer greatly.

Know that the river has its destination.
The elders say we must let go of the shore;
Push off into the middle of the river,
Keep our eyes open and our heads above the water.

And I say,
See who is in there with you and celebrate.
At this time in history we are to take nothing personally.
Least of all, ourselves. For the moment that we do,
our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.

The time of the lone wolf is over.
Gather yourselves.
Banish the word "struggle" from your attitude and vocabulary.
All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in
celebration.

We are the ones we have been waiting for.

Looking for furniture donations!
For our new office: a desk return - to give the desk an L shape; 1 or 2 comfortable chairs for meetings; a small table; a chair mat to protect the floor from the rolling casters. Also on the wish list: a Pentium 4 computer!
For the teacher space upstairs: a little shelf for the kettle etc. and a small couch or chairs.
If you have any such items to donate, call Julie - she’s at the school office (624-0874) on Wednesdays and Thursdays around 10 a.m., or leave a message.
See also specific requests from the classroom teachers on their pages.

Someone has contacted the school with a possible donation of about 100 record albums!! Is there anyone who would like to do the legwork to get some money from them for the school? You’d need to see if they are worthy of selling on EBay or elsewhere, etc. If anyone is interested, please call me ASAP. If no one comes forward by March 15, I will let her know that we are not interested. Julie Suederick
Each year the school issues child care tax receipts to parents for the time your child is supervised in school. The 2004 receipts will be in the mail shortly.
