KALEIDOSCOPE - The South Shore Waldorf School & Kindergarten Newsletter - March 2005 - p.3

My thoughts as I write some notes for the newsletter are about balance. Balance for the children, our days in the kindergarten, our understanding of child development and also our future. We have the capacity to open our hearts with which to see the ups and downs in life and best communicate them.

Balance for children can mean walking. Simply walking; feet on the earth. The earth allows us to surrender to it and carry ourselves freely. Also walking on a log in the forest is quite fun while a song to reinforce one foot in front of the other keeps a wakeful mood. Centering is happening quietly.
We noticed some faerie flyers in the forest... Hmmm, we wondered that perhaps the faeries like to dance about these sparkly feathery flyers. We noticed not just one but four so far. I wonder if there are more? And it was also seen that the buds on our maple tree in Kindergarten are swelling red and round [see above - Ed.]. A year is beginning indeed.

Spring, by William Blake.

Sound the flute
Now 'tis mute
Birds delight
Day and night.
Nightingale
In the dale
Lark in Sky,
Merrily, merrily,
Merrily, to welcome in the year.

Cheers,
Karin and Linda.

KINDERGARTEN NEWS

Housekeeping item of great urgence:

Our Kindergarten door in is need of repair. It really needs a serious going over with the window fitting in the frame. At the very least it needs new caulking as the old has fallen out and there are gaps allowing the winter air in. Please and thank you to whoever can fix the door. It would be much appreciated.
